Abdulmumin Jibrin, a four-time member of the House of Representatives, is confident that President Bola Tinubu would be re-elected in 2027, stressing that the opposition has lost its hopes of unseating the ruling party.
Jibrin, who spoke on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Wednesday, said the current political facts and dynamics favour Tinubu ahead of the 2019 presidential election.
“Whatever strategy or candidates the opposition makes, the ruling party is in a strong position,” the politician said.
He argued that even if opposition figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State governor Peter Obi, as well as Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, were to come together on one platform, Tinubu would still win.
He said the rift among the opposition increased the chances of the President, predicting that Tinubu will win the next presidential poll.
Jibrin said: “I will say on a general note, on a general scale and with the reality on ground and all of the political dynamics that we can see, no matter how you analyse it, whether with one presidential candidate you did not imagine, whether with another candidate from Ibadan, emerging, however you look at it, the opposition lost it already.
“I used to say that even if they come together, the President will defeat them, not to mention when they’ve split. I tell you the president will win this election.
