Accusations of religious strife in the North have been levelled against Babachir Lawal by Oladimeji Fabiyi, a supporter of Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Fabiyi made the accusation during an interview on Trust TV on Wednesday.
In response to Lawal’s assertion that the ADC presidential primary was skewed in favour of Atiku, he spoke out.
After announcing his departure from the ADC, Lawal went on to say that Atiku was unqualified to be president.
The integrity of Babachir Lawal is lacking. In all candour, he isn’t behaving like an elder or leader in Adamawa State or the North.
To help the people of Nigeria understand this man for who he truly is, I’m going to rehash the events of his past actions with you today.
He is free to confront me in person if I am mistaken. Northerners like Babachir Lawal were responsible for a horrific religious upheaval in the 1980s.
The Nigerian people need to learn more about this guy. You look at a man’s background when you suspect he is dishonest.
Just now he surfaced the accusation that Atiku is a Fulani man. Could he not have known that Atiku was a Fulani man while he was assembling the coalition? This is the kind of question we should be asking him, Fabiyi remarked.
